Dorstenia foetida comes from the dry deserts of northeastern tropical Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. It's not easy to find everywhere, making it quite a unique catch for collectors. In Oman, this plant has a practical side too, with its tubers cooked and eaten, showcasing its versatility beyond just being a display piece.
Dorstenia foetida needs bright yet indirect light, with at least 60% shade being ideal. Unlike other succulents, it appreciates more water during its growing season, but make sure not to overwater or you'll risk root rot. Use a well-draining soil mix, preferably one with pumice and akadama, to keep it happy. If you're looking to propagate, seeds or offsets work best.
This succulent stands out with its disc-like structure and varied leaf shapes and sizes. In the summer, it blooms with solitary flowers, which can range in shades of greyish, green, orange, or pinkish. It's a fast grower, usually adding about 20-25 cm each year. Its unique looks and the ability to be a food source in Oman add to its special appeal.
We offer free tracked worldwide shipping for all orders above $100. Just choose "Free Shipping" as the shipping form during checkout.
It is possible to order a phytosanitary certificate for your order. The cost is $20 per order, regardless of the quantity of the plants. You can choose to include one in the checkout when choosing the shipping method.
Issuing the certificate may delay the shipping by up to 2 weeks. We will inform you about the shipping via e-mail.
Please note all plants are shipped with neither the pot nor the soil to prevent any damage to the plants and to comply with worldwide import regulations regarding soil. We sometimes cut the leaves as well to ensure a safer transit for the plant.
