Euphorbia razafindratsirae is a rare succulent tucked away in the dry bushlands of Madagascar, particularly near Tongobory. It thrives at low elevations around 275 meters. Its limited distribution makes it a true gem for those who manage to add it to their collection. The plants we provide are 2 years old seedlings, carefully cultivated to bring a slice of Madagascar to your home.
This plant prefers sharp drainage, so use sandy or rocky soil mixes. It's more drought-tolerant than your average houseplant but appreciates slightly more water during its active growth season. It's best to give it a thorough soak weekly in this period. Keep it in bright light for optimal growth, but shield it from the harsh midday sun to avoid stress. During winter, when growth slows, water only once a month and make sure the temperature stays above 10° C (50° F).
The sprawling growth habit and woody caudex of Euphorbia razafindratsirae make it stand out. It develops low-growing stems that occasionally put on a show of pink-yellow blooms. What truly sets it apart is its rarity and the unique caudex form that collectors find so appealing. The plant is under CITES protection, making it even more of a coveted piece for succulent enthusiasts.
