Boswellia socotrana is unique to Socotra Island, Yemen. This plant lives in alluvial lowlands and dry shrublands where conditions are tough, allowing it to adapt well to arid environments. Our plants are 2 years old seedlings, providing you with a robust start for your houseplant collection.
This plant needs full sun and should be kept in temperatures above 10°C (50°F). During the growing season, water it once a week but let the soil dry out completely before the next watering. In winter, when the plant goes dormant, water only once a month. Although it may lose its leaves in the colder months, they'll come back in spring.
Boswellia socotrana showcases a sturdy, branching appearance typical of the Burseraceae family. The textured bark and compound leaves add an exotic flair to any setting. Known for its extreme drought tolerance, this plant's slow growth is part of its charm since it can go months without producing new leaves, yet bursts back to life come springtime. Its limited availability makes it a prized find for plant collectors.
We offer free tracked worldwide shipping for all orders above $100. Just choose "Free Shipping"Â as the shipping form during checkout.
It is possible to order a phytosanitary certificate for your order. The cost is $20 per order, regardless of the quantity of the plants. You can choose to include one in the checkout when choosing the shipping method.
Issuing the certificate may delay the shipping by up to 2 weeks. We will inform you about the shipping via e-mail.
Please note all plants are shipped with neither the pot nor the soil to prevent any damage to the plants and to comply with worldwide import regulations regarding soil. We sometimes cut the leaves as well to ensure a safer transit for the plant.
Not satisfied with the plants your received? No worries! Send them back to us and we will refund you the cost of the plants and the cost of the return shipping! Or we can send you new plants, it's up to you.
