Euphorbia neohumbertii is native to the rugged landscapes of northwestern Madagascar. It thrives in the rocky regions like Tsingy de l'Ankarana. This plant is considered rare mainly due to habitat loss and its limited distribution. It’s a true treasure for those who appreciate rare botanical finds.
The key to keeping Euphorbia neohumbertii happy is well-drained soil to prevent root rot. It likes it dry, so avoid overwatering, especially in cooler months. Using a moisture meter can come in handy to maintain the right balance. It is best kept in an environment that mimics its natural habitat with temperatures preferably on the warmer side, avoiding extreme cold.
This succulent is a standout with its quadrangular green stems covered in thick brown down and thin spines. It grows up to 90 cm tall, creating a commanding presence. You'll love its large green leaves that drop in winter, leaving perennial scars. Come spring, it showcases vibrant scarlet flowers accented with yellow, adding a splash of color that few other succulents can match. Its distinct seasonal changes make it a brilliant addition for any succulent collector.
