Euphorbia inaequispina is a rare succulent that roots itself in the arid landscapes of Ethiopia and Somalia. Found primarily on rocky limestone slopes at low elevations, it is adapted to thrive in some of the most challenging dry climates on earth. Its scarcity is linked to its restricted range and specific habitat needs. Our plants have been grafted about 2-3 years ago.
This succulent prefers bright light, so placing it in a well-lit spot is ideal. Water sparingly, ensuring the soil completely dries out before the next watering. Use a sharp-draining soil mix, such as a cactus mix with added grit, to mimic its natural environment. The plant is sensitive to overwatering and should be kept in temperatures above 13° C (55° F). During its winter dormancy, you'll only need to water it once a month.
Euphorbia inaequispina stands out due to its rarity and its ability to survive in harsh, low-elevation conditions. While detailed visual traits are less documented, its spiny, succulent nature makes it a prized addition for collectors seeking rare and unusual plants. Due to the potential irritation from its sap, itâs best handled with care, a common trait among Euphorbias. Limited in cultivation, it holds a special place for succulent enthusiasts who appreciate its unique xeric adaptations.
