Cycas pranburiensis is a rare cycad native to the Pranburi district in Thailand. It grows in the wet tropical climate, often found in the unique terrain of karst hills. Limited to this small geographical range and specific soil conditions, its scarcity adds to its allure for plant enthusiasts.
Cycas pranburiensis prefers well-draining soil, ensuring the roots with cyanobacteria thrive without excessive moisture. Water thoroughly during the growing season but let the soil dry out before watering again. It enjoys direct sunlight and requires temperatures above 10° C (50° F). In winter, water minimally as the plant enters dormancy. Handle carefully during transplanting due to its specialized root system. The young plants we offer are 1-year-old seedlings.
This cycad features a stout trunk with lush, long fronds that encapsulate the classical cycad look. Its rarity and striking appearance make it a valuable piece for collectors of unique and hard-to-find plants. Its survival story, entailing symbiotic relationships with cyanobacteria, makes it not only a living piece of nature but a symbol of life and resilience.
