Uncarina roesliana, also known as the big Uncarina, is a rare succulent from Madagascar. It thrives in the island's dry spiny forests and western deciduous woodlands. While not much is known about its cultural significance, its unique seed dispersal might have once been linked to now-extinct giant birds. The plants we offer are 2-year-old seedlings, ready to add an exotic touch to your collection.
This succulent loves plenty of sunlight, so place it in full sun or where it gets bright indirect light indoors. Water it regularly during its active growth in spring and summer. In winter, it rests and requires minimal water, just occasional misting is enough. It prefers a sandy, well-draining soil mix, like cactus substrate with pumice. Keep it above 12°C (54°F), as it's sensitive to frost.
Uncarina roesliana stands out with its thick, woody caudex which stores water, and velvety lobed leaves. Its bright yellow trumpet-shaped flowers bloom all summer long, making it a visually striking addition. Even as mature specimens reach around 50 cm tall, they remain compact enough for any collection. It's perfect for those seeking unique and unusual caudiciform succulents.
We offer free tracked worldwide shipping for all orders above $100. Just choose "Free Shipping" as the shipping form during checkout.
It is possible to order a phytosanitary certificate for your order. The cost is $20 per order, regardless of the quantity of the plants. You can choose to include one in the checkout when choosing the shipping method.
Issuing the certificate may delay the shipping by up to 2 weeks. We will inform you about the shipping via e-mail.
Please note all plants are shipped with neither the pot nor the soil to prevent any damage to the plants and to comply with worldwide import regulations regarding soil. We sometimes cut the leaves as well to ensure a safer transit for the plant.
