Hoya sp. Black Leaf is part of a group of plants originating from the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia, Australia, and Polynesia. The specific details about this Hoya's native habitat are unclear, adding a bit of mystery and allure to its name. Known for thriving in warm environments, hoyas are generally recognized for their fragrant blooms and striking leaves.
To keep your Hoya sp. Black Leaf happy, provide it with bright, indirect light. While it handles dryness well, it appreciates some humidity. You can gently mist the plant or group it with others to mimic a humid environment. Water moderately and let the soil dry between waterings. In winter, reduce watering to once a month. Ideal temperatures are above 15° C (59° F), avoiding any dip below 13° C (55° F).
This plant is a standout due to its dark, striking leaves, making it uniquely different from its brighter Hoya relatives. It's perfect for those who want a touch of the unusual in their plant collection. While not much is documented about its rarity, its limited availability makes it a treasure for collectors.
