Euphorbia viguieri capuronii is a unique succulent from Madagascarâs coastal forests. These small plants find their footing on the eroded limestone rocks of this tropical island. The lush environment combined with the plant's limited natural habitat lends to its rarity.
This plant thrives in well-draining calcareous soil and enjoys both bright light and partial shade. During its growth season, water it once a week, making sure the soil dries out completely before the next watering. In the winter, you only need to water it once a month since it enters dormancy, shedding its leaves. Keep your plant in temperatures above 13°C (55°F) as it is sensitive to frost.
Euphorbia viguieri capuronii stands out with its bright green, angular stems and spiraling white thorns. Remarkably, it produces vibrant red floral clusters that catch the eye. This slow grower develops textured stem patterns as old leaves fall. The change of seasons is met with dramatic transformations, emphasized by its watermelon-red blooms and the shedding of foliage, making it a living testament to the dynamic beauty of nature.
Watch out for its sap, which can irritate the skin, adding another layer of intrigue to this amazing specimen.
