Euphorbia pachypodioides is a rare gem from the Tsingy of Ankarana reserve in northwestern Madagascar. This unique succulent thrives in this isolated environment, contributing to its rarity and desirability among succulent collectors. Our specimens are 3-year-old seedlings, ready to add unique charm to your plant collection.
This plant prefers full sun to partial shade and grows best in well-draining, sandy soil. It’s drought-tolerant, so go easy on the water. During its growing season, water it thoroughly but let the soil dry out completely between waterings. In the off-season, reduce watering to once a month. It enjoys temperatures above 13°C (55°F) and may lose its leaves in dry conditions. Handle with care as its sap is milky and toxic.
Euphorbia pachypodioides stands out with its thick, sculptural caudex and spiny, upright stems. Its bright red to pink flowers make it a rare beauty in any space. With a growth height of 30-100 cm, this succulent captures attention for its striking form and vibrant blooms. It's a must-have for anyone serious about succulent or caudiciform collections.
