Euphorbia abdelkuri – Crested hails from Abd al Kuri Island in the Socotra Archipelago near Yemen. This unique location has shaped its evolution, adapting the plant to survive in harsh desert conditions. The rare environment contributes to its scarcity and elevates its desirability among plant enthusiasts.
This succulent thrives in direct sunlight, although some filtered sun during peak hours can prevent bleaching. Keep it in warm temperatures, always above 13°C (55.4°F). It's important to plant it in well-draining soil and only water when the soil is completely dry to avoid root rot. During colder months when the plant is dormant, water it sparingly and ensure the temperature stays warm.
Euphorbia abdelkuri – Crested is a standout specimen with its compact, fleshy fan-like structure and diamond-like tubercles. Its thick, waxy, greyish stems make it visually arresting. More unusual for this species is the lack of thorns, adding to its uniqueness. Its exotic and rare qualities make it an excellent choice for any collector looking to enhance their collection with something truly special.
