Oeceoclades gracillima is a unique type of terrestrial orchid native to southern and western Madagascar. This orchid thrives in dry soils, perfectly suited to its arid homeland. While it's not traditionally labeled a succulent, its ability to withstand dry conditions makes it a fascinating find for plant enthusiasts. Our plants are around 3 years old, grown from an imported mother plant.
This orchid prefers direct sunlight, but avoid excessive heat. Ideal temperatures should stay above 13°C (55.4°F). Water it thoroughly once a week during its growth phase. In winter, keep watering minimal, about once a month, and maintain temperatures above 13°C (55.4°F). Expect it to shed leaves during dormancy, but they'll regrow with the arrival of spring.
Though not much is recorded about its cultural history, Oeceoclades gracillima's appearance captivates collectors. Its mottled brown leaves often seem dead at first glance, but this rugged beauty is part of its charm. While its flowers are small and understated, the plant's foliage provides an unusual visual character, appealing to anyone looking for a distinctive, adaptable plant.
We offer free tracked worldwide shipping for all orders above $100. Just choose "Free Shipping"Â as the shipping form during checkout.
It is possible to order a phytosanitary certificate for your order. The cost is $20 per order, regardless of the quantity of the plants. You can choose to include one in the checkout when choosing the shipping method.
Issuing the certificate may delay the shipping by up to 2 weeks. We will inform you about the shipping via e-mail.
Please note all plants are shipped with neither the pot nor the soil to prevent any damage to the plants and to comply with worldwide import regulations regarding soil. We sometimes cut the leaves as well to ensure a safer transit for the plant.
