Euphorbia abdelkuri cv. Damask is a rare succulent, originally from the stunning Socotra archipelago in Yemen. This unique location is an interesting UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its one-of-a-kind plants. Damask is a cultivar that thrives in conditions mimicking its rocky, mineral-rich homeland. The ones we offer have been grafted, allowing for stability and better adaptation, and are between 2 and 3 years old.
This plant loves bright light and prefers direct sun or partial shade. Use a gritty, non-organic soil to ensure proper drainage and avoid rot. Water only once a week during its growth season and reduce watering in winter to once a month, letting the soil dry out completely between sessions. It likes temperatures above 13°C (55°F), and it is important to avoid freezing conditions.
The Euphorbia abdelkuri cv. Damask is known for its striking ribbed stems which can come in gray-green to pinkish hues. These columnar, six-ribbed stems offer a waxy texture that catches the eye of any collector. Its distinction lies partly in its scarcity and the sculptural form of its growth. It does contain a milky sap, typical of Euphorbias, which is toxic to humans and pets, adding an element of care when handling this plant.
