Cussonia paniculata, also known as the Mountain Cabbage Tree, is native to southern Africa, thriving in diverse habitats. It's commonly found in the wild, which makes it accessible to collectors. While not classified as rare, its unique look makes it a desirable addition to any garden, particularly those focusing on South African flora.
This succulent enjoys well-drained soil and tolerates rocky, less fertile grounds. It prefers partial sun exposure and can adapt to warm climates, though mild frost is manageable. Once it's established, it's drought-tolerant but appreciates a deep drink during long dry spells. Keep it in temperatures above 10° C (50° F) for best results.
Cussonia paniculata stands out with its short, sturdy trunk and distinctive bluish-green, finger-like leaves. It rarely exceeds a height of 5 meters, making it a great garden focal point. The grey, fissured bark adds character, and its flowers bloom from late winter to early spring, offering a touch of color during the cooler seasons.
We offer free tracked worldwide shipping for all orders above $100. Just choose "Free Shipping" as the shipping form during checkout.
It is possible to order a phytosanitary certificate for your order. The cost is $20 per order, regardless of the quantity of the plants. You can choose to include one in the checkout when choosing the shipping method.
Issuing the certificate may delay the shipping by up to 2 weeks. We will inform you about the shipping via e-mail.
Please note all plants are shipped with neither the pot nor the soil to prevent any damage to the plants and to comply with worldwide import regulations regarding soil. We sometimes cut the leaves as well to ensure a safer transit for the plant.
Not satisfied with the plants your received? No worries! Send them back to us and we will refund you the cost of the plants and the cost of the return shipping! Or we can send you new plants, it's up to you.
