Native to the southwestern dry forests and thickets of Madagascar, Uncarina grandidieri is a rare succulent known for its unique structure. Its natural habitat has shrunk significantly since the 1970s, adding to its rarity. Our plants on offer are 1-year-old seedlings, ready to add an exotic touch to your collection.
This succulent loves the sun, so give it full sun to partial shade. Use well-draining soil with additives like pumice or perlite. Water sparingly, especially when the plant is leafless. It prefers warmer temperatures, thriving above 10°C (50°F) and can tolerate up to 45°C (113°F). Be careful to avoid frost and overwatering, as these can damage the plant.
Uncarina grandidieri creates a bold visual statement with its swollen trunk and velvety, triangular leaves. Brilliant yellow flowers with purple throats and barbed fruit capsules add to its exotic charm. Its rarity and distinct pollination by beetles make it a conversation starter and a must-have for caudex enthusiasts.
We offer free tracked worldwide shipping for all orders above $100. Just choose "Free Shipping"Â as the shipping form during checkout.
It is possible to order a phytosanitary certificate for your order. The cost is $20 per order, regardless of the quantity of the plants. You can choose to include one in the checkout when choosing the shipping method.
Issuing the certificate may delay the shipping by up to 2 weeks. We will inform you about the shipping via e-mail.
Please note all plants are shipped with neither the pot nor the soil to prevent any damage to the plants and to comply with worldwide import regulations regarding soil. We sometimes cut the leaves as well to ensure a safer transit for the plant.
